That summer, Wiseman was in negotiations to direct a standalone mini-series (12 episodes) tentatively titled, " DIE HARD: Year One", based around the BOOM! Studios graphic novel of the same name. It was cancelled (not renewed) in June 2017. The show aired from February through April 2017. Writer Evan Katz pitched a follow-up to Live Another Day called 24: Legacy that was greenlit in 2015. By 2015, Die Hard 4.0 director Len Wiseman's self-penned prequel/sequel origin story idea called John McClane gained traction.
Instead, the Studio chose to reincarnate 24 in limited edition as 24: Live Another Day (homage to Live Free or Die Hard), which premiered in May 2014 and ended that July. A blending of its popular television programme, 24, with Die Hard characters had been considered, but ultimately disregarded Die Hard being re-formulated as a television spin-off featuring Jack Bauer called Die Hard 24/7 was optioned, but contract negotiations with Kiefer Sutherland soured and no pilot was made. Immediately following the theatrical run of A Good Day To Die Hard in 2013, Fox Studios began looking into developing a sixth installment, possibly as an answer to that film's poor critical response. When the production was formally announced for the fifth film in the series, Bruce Willis expressed his desire to retire the John McClane character in a final film, explicitly calling for a 'fleshed out' conclusion. Apocalypse 91.Charles Gordon, Lawrence Gordon and Joel Silver.I still blew through quite a few lives regardless. The difficulty in the remastered versions has been tweaked SLIGHTLY. If you played 2 and Warped as much as I did, going back to 1 with no double jump, slide or body slam feels weird but it is still an excellent game. Looking back on this game through the lens of the N-Sane trilogy, it's the worst of the three OG games and it always has been but that's due to the expansion of gameplay in the next two games control wise. Now in fairness, the controls could be a bit stiff in certain areas but for the most part, if you died it was on you whether it was bad timing or just impatience. You would die and a lot of times, it was your fault. Make no mistake, this wasn't a simple game that you could blow through in a few hours. However the 10-man team at Naughty Dog (That's right, TEN) threw in so many pitfalls and enemies that made the game difficult but still playable. The gameplay was about as simple as it could get, run and jump. The original Crash Bandicoot was released for the PS1 in 1996 and was such a success that Crash became the mascot for the PlayStation brand in the late 90's.
